ABSTRACT OF COURSE'S CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
The purpose of this course is to provide a systematic overview of the

designed to provide students with:

an understanding of the structure, financing,
and special properties of health services delivery, particularly in the US;
·
applications of social science theory,
disciplinary contributions, and research findings to the understanding of
significant problems of health services delivery;
·
analyses of current sources of data about health
status, health services use, financing, and indicators of the performance of
the health delivery system; and
·
insights into the management and policy issues
that drive efforts to reform the health services system
This class is required for the joint MBA/MPH degree. It prepares
students to take more advanced course work in the strategic management of
health services, health care finance, and health policy analysis.
