CLASS FORMAT: Guest speakers describing their experiences in
general management, business development and corporate strategy roles
REQUIRED READINGS: Speaker bios sent just before class/given
in class right before beginning. Sometimes guest speakers may prepare
material and request for class to read ahead. Cases and/or materials
prepared by guest speakers
BASIS FOR FINAL GRADE: Attendance and class participation
ABSTRACT OF COURSE'S CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
This one-unit course aims to educate Haas students
about the various roles individuals play within Leadership Development Programs
and the Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and General Management
functions, and to increase the depth and breadth of these career opportunities
available to Haas students. Each week, one to two guest executives will speak
on their firm's areas of concentration and culture, followed by a case
discussion or a discussion of their experiences in the position, concluding
with an opportunity for students to ask questions.
