ABSTRACT OF COURSE'S CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
This course will explore the dynamics and key parameters of the consulting industry, both from the perspective of the consultant and those responsible for buying and managing consulting services. The course will provide a macro- level view of the industry structure and a micro-level view of the consulting process from sales through relationship development and delivery. We will explore these concepts through the use of current industry data and real world case studies of different types of consulting projects, including insights on how the reality of consulting may differ from academic experience. Key elements of the course will include the different types of consulting firms, the consulting business model and consulting process, and the role of the consultant as a trusted advisor.
