ABSTRACT OF COURSE'S CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
Product Management is one of the high impact roles in today’s companies. Product managers (PMs) typically own the end-to-end product development process from concept and ideation all the way to launch of the product in market. They work cross-functionally with many teams across the organization to build, test, and launch a product.

This course helps students understand what makes a top notch product manager and provides students with the required knowledge, skills, and tools to succeed in that role. Through this course, students will get exposed the full product development cycle and learn how to go from an idea to designing and launching a product. This course uses a learning-by-doing approach to build basic product management skills.

The Product Management course is the combination of

  1. Lectures on key product management topics;
  2. Cases and speakers who will describe a real-life case around a particular product management topic with class discussion and key take-aways;
  3. Hands-on  practices;
  4. A class project which requires students to define, validate, and design a solution to a real life problem from scratch.

CAREER FIELD: This course is mainly designed for students with limited or no prior product management experience who are interested in becoming product managers. Entrepreneurs who want to lead the design and development of products in their own companies could also benefit from this course by better understanding the end-to-end product development process.
