ABSTRACT OF COURSE'S CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES: Macroeconomics shapes business conditions, strategies and decisions. This course provides students with the analytical tools to better understand long-run trends and short-run fluctuations in key macroeconomic variables such as GDP, wage and profit rates, inflation, interest rates, employment and unemployment, budget deficits, exchange rates and trade balances. Students analyze how monetary, fiscal and international trade and financial policies affect the macroeconomic and business environment. Special attention will be devoted to the current global macroeconomic challenges.
