BASIS FOR FINAL GRADE:
Grading is Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory. A satisfactory grade is based on attending all classes and submitting an
abbreviated (1 to 2 page) personal financial plan on October 17.

ABSTRACT OF COURSE'S CONTENT AND OBJECTIVE:
The course begins with an overview of the basic issues in personal finance, and covers compensation/benefits (with an emphasis on stock options), risk management, survivor planning (including wealth transfers), investing, mutual funds, retirement planning, and income tax issues. The focus is on the needs of MBA graduates who are about to reenter the workplace.
The course objective is to help MBAs build a framework for making intelligent personal financial decisions.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH:
Stan Breitbard was National Director of Personal Financial Planning for Price Waterhouse LLP from 1983 to 1994 and Chairman
of Price Waterhouse Investment Advisers. Stan earned his AB and MBA degrees from Berkeley.
